Light Night 2017

Light Night Leeds returned with a spectacular 13th edition in October 2017. Approximately 80,000 people attended over 60 events on the theme of ‘The City and its People’, kicking off with an Illuminated Night Carnival Parade starring Leeds West Indian Carnival. Highlights of this year’s event included an Aerial Circus in Trinity Leeds, and Lampounette, a series of huge desk lamps along Briggate.

POP, a collection of projection mapped mannequins, and ‘On Your Wavelength’ a mind controlled audio visual experience, transformed Leeds Town Hall. Several of the city’s other majestic buildings were animated through video mapping and light installations including ‘Beating Heart’ on the Platform Building at Leeds Station, ‘Harlequin’ on the Queens Hotel, and ‘Out of the Aire’ on Leeds Civic Hall.
